Alright, ladies and gents, we have a LOT to talk about this morning. I woke up this morning, 15 days out, with a fire under my bum ready to DESTROY my workout, which I did, I had nothing but positive vibes flowing through me and I was feeling so great,
and whilst I was on the stair master kicking total ass and another competitor hopped up next to me. (Haha, that you EXTRA motivation) And she says to me:
"Did you hear your show was cancelled."
The world fell away from me. I knew she was talking, but I couldn't hear her. All I could say was "Please tell me this isn't really happening." But guess what, guys, spoiler alert: it is happening.
My show is no longer happening.
My five and a half months of prep is no longer leading up to this show that I was so excited about.
I jumped off the stair master and cried. I called the promoter to verify, then I dialed three numbers: mom, dad, coach.
Then you know what happened next? I wiped my tears off my face, and I told Darin, that the next show near me is April 26th. That's my show, and he said to me, "Well, Emma. Looks like you're seven weeks and one day out."
What a freaking blessing, you guys.
My first show was a bust and it really sucks that I have to cancel everything I had planned, but now I have five extra weeks to perfect my body and really bring my best package. How can I be sad about that?
This isn't a journey with a deadline. This is a competition of me versus me, and I know for damn sure that the me on April 26th is going to be miles better than the me on March 22nd.
Thank you so so much to everyone's support this morning. Many of you guys called me and texted me to make sure I'm okay. And I am. I am so overwhelmed by the love and support you show me everyday. I'll be forever grateful. <3
So to anyone reading this, get ready. Because it's about to go down.

Oh MY GOODNESS!!!!!!! - I have had to "start over" twice already... so I know where you're at! Way to turn the seemingly "negative" into a positive experience in all of like 5 minutes! Still rooting for you for the next couple of weeks- they will fly by just like the last 5.5 months flew by. Now you are here and tomorrow is never promised so I am happy that in the right now you are still smiling and just ready for the next workout. #TeamEmma :) Lots of hugs from the East Coast my dear. XO
ReplyDeleteProps to you for keeping at it, as well! This comment made me smile ear to ear, thank you so much for all of the encouragement. :D The one thing that my dad always taught me is to not let things that are out of your control get you down, so I try my best not to! I cannot change this, but I can change my body for the better, so I'm going to bring in these next fifty days. I'm more than ready. Stay strong, girl! Stay fit! We've got this ;)
