Alright.
I'm sitting here with my coffee (shocker)
...Actually, it is sorta shocking. I am drinking the Wild Maine blueberry k-cup, and it's actually quite nice.
Don't knock it until you're 26 weeks into a prep and desperate, you might actually like it, too.

This is the sorta thing I resort to when I'm craving a muffin.
That and jello, of the sugar-free variety.

So let's talk prep.
My favorites and my least favorites, and things that aren't actually "preppy" but requires a great deal of strength and/or self control.

Like this evening when I got off the bus and literally was running at a 45 degree angle against the violent wind and rain.
Maybe I'm exaggerating a tiny bit, but I'm pretty sure that trudge through the downpour torched at least ten calories.

Also, can we applaud my ability to not dig in all of my co-workers personal belongings hunting down their goodies? And I quote: "Emma, do you know whose back pack this is? There is literally the biggest bag of peanut m&ms I have ever seen in there?"
Ahem, are you asking me, because you want to see me change form into a ravenous beast? Because I just might for some peanut m&ms.

MY FAVS:
Lateral raises (#teamshoulders)
Waking up lean (#wherecaniorderasixpack)
Barbell Squats (#missnewbooty)
Bicep Curls (#curlsforgirls)
Refeed Days (#potatoes)

MY LEASTS:
Low Carb Day (#bitchmode)
200 Lunges (#dammitdarin)
Cardio (#stopstealingmygains)
The Inability to Stay Awake for Everyday life (#Idlovetohangoutbutiliterallycannotfunctionsono)
No Ice Cream (#whatdoyoumeanthisdoesntfitmyprep)

Obviously, I'm hashtaging everything, because it's obnoxious. But also realistic. If you have me on instagram, you get my reference.
I'm one of those girls, yup. Haha. #noshameinmygame

I also want to open the floor for questions! I have been getting so much positive feedback from these posts (THANK YOU <3) And I want to be able to reach out to as many of you as I can! Please don't hesitate to e-mail me any questions! Who knows, I may or may not have a way to turn your question into a witty blogpost ;)
STAY FIT, FRIENDS <3

  1. #lol - Hashtags are the best- they really are ridiculous but fun :) I share a lot of the same likes and dislikes for prep that you do.... although the 200 lunges would be in my "favs" pile- mostly because I am a masochist of sorts... I mean really? Aren't all bodybuilders? As usual, love your honest and to the point posts! I will admit I check in once a day for updates! haha. #teamemma - I have a question!! As a personal trainer: do you find it hard to do what you love, while also having to do it for work?

    1. I love this! Haha, and you're exactly right, we all are masochists... We should start a club. Haha.
I try to post once a day! I'm going to write up a fun one tonight once I get off of work :)
And to answer your question, no! I love my clients, and I thrive from them. I push them hard in the gym everyday, and I use that to motivate me. I tell them that I will never expect anything from them that I wouldn't do. So if I want 110% of their effort, I make sure I give my workout the same respect. :)

    2. That's a really great rule to live by. You are setting the example for those of us who look up to you - amazeballs! I am sure you clients thrive from their time with you as well.
